Timothy B. Clepper
Tim Clepper is a licensed investment advisor and serves as Ellsworth Advisors Managing Partner. He is responsible for the overall management of the firm, setting investment strategy and business development. For more than 20 years, Tim has been in the asset management business. Tim’s career started at McDonald & Company Securities in 1997, in Private Wealth Management, where he was hired by Bill Summers, Jr.
In 2002, Tim transitioned his practice to Robert W. Baird’s newly opened Cleveland, Ohio, branch office and helped cement Baird’s growing presence in Ohio.
Increasing his focus on the wealth management and planning needs of high net worth investors, Tim exited Baird in 2008 as a Senior Vice President in the Private Client Group and joined Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Global Wealth Management business, headquartered in New York City.
At 33 years of age, Tim was named Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager in Morgan’s Private Wealth Management Group. Disappointed in the shifting landscape of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney as a result of the financial crisis, Tim launched Ellsworth Private Wealth Management, LLC (predecessor to Ellsworth Advisors) in 2015.
Tim graduated magna cum laude from Kent State University with a BBA in Finance. He is involved in several charities, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He also started Santa PICsU, a 501(c)(3) organization, which was formed to bring the “healing power of the spirit of giving” to children and families in traumatic situations. Santa PICsU focuses on children and families who are in local Pediatric Intensive Care Units (PICUs) on a year-round basis.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys being with his family and everything that he can do outdoors, including hunting, fishing, skiing, golf, and coaching lacrosse. Tim has been married for 18 years to his wife, Amy. Together, they have three children and reside in Hudson, Ohio, where Ellsworth Advisors is headquartered.
Kelly M. Kuennen, CFP®
Kelly Kuennen is a licensed investment advisor and serves as a Managing Director of Ellsworth Advisors. He is responsible for all portfolio management and financial planning. Kelly possesses over 25 years of experience in wealth management and is a CFP® and holds the series 66 license and is licensed to provide and consult on life insurance. In 2015, he co-founded Ellsworth Private Wealth Management, LLC (predecessor to Ellsworth Advisors).
Prior to Ellsworth Advisors, Kelly served as a Vice President at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Global Wealth Management business. As a Financial Advisor, he counseled clients on their financial affairs while also managing their investment assets on a discretionary basis. Upon his departure from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney he held the title of Senior Portfolio Manager.
Kelly began working with clients in an advisory capacity while a Vice President at Robert W. Baird. In addition to working with individuals and families, he assisted business owners in establishing and managing their qualified retirement plans.
Kelly started his career at American Express Financial Advisors with a focus on financial planning, mutual funds and insurance.
Kelly is a graduate of Miami University with a BS in Finance. Kelly attended Miami as an Evans Scholar. He continues to be an active supporter of the Evans Scholar Foundation. Kelly resides in Middleburg Heights with his wife and two daughters. He is an avid golfer and enjoys travel and movies.
Cameron S. Miele
Cameron Miele is a licensed investment advisor and serves as a Managing Director of Ellsworth Advisors. His primary responsibilities include the origination, processing and oversight of the firm’s private equity and private real estate investments. Cameron also takes a lead role in business development and expanding the firm’s investment opportunities.
Prior to joining Ellsworth Advisors, Cameron served as a Director and Principal with Weinberg Capital Group (WCG), a middle-market private equity firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. WCG acquires private companies located throughout North America with a primary focus on businesses involved in manufacturing, business services, logistics and value-added distribution. Prior to joining WCG, he was a Director and Partner with the investment bank of Brown Gibbons Lang & Company (BGL). At BGL, Cameron focused on mergers and acquisitions, capital raises and financial restructuring for companies with enterprise values under $1 billion.
Cameron began his career at McDonald & Company Securities as an Analyst in the Energy Investment Banking Group. Over the course of a 23-year finance career, Cameron has participated in more than 70 merger and acquisition and capital raising transactions, with a total value of approximately $7 billion. Cameron is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a BA in Economics. While at the University of Virginia, he was a four-year letterman for the men’s varsity track and field team.
Cameron is also involved with several local and national charities. He is a member of the Advisory Board for the Northern Ohio Chapter of A Kid Again, an Ohio-based charity that provides support for families raising children suffering from life-threatening illnesses and developmental disorders. In 2015, Cameron and his wife Katie founded the Cameron & Katie Miele Foundation. The family foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping families raising children suffering from life-threatening illnesses and developmental disorders, organizations benefiting our military and their families and higher education. Cameron and Katie live in Hudson with their three daughters.
Michael "Max" Schindler, CPFA, CRPC®
Senior Vice President
Max Schindler is a licensed investment advisor and serves as Senior Vice President of Ellsworth Advisors. He is primarily responsible for providing comprehensive wealth management and financial planning to individuals, families and consults with business owners and corporations on corporate retirement plans. Max also takes a lead role in business development and operations.
Max started his career with Tim Clepper after graduating high school, working as an intern while at Robert W. Baird. He transferred from The University of Dayton to John Carroll University to work full time while obtaining his BS in Accountancy. Upon graduation, Max followed Tim Clepper to Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 2009 and became fully licensed in 2010. Alongside Tim Clepper and Kelly Kuennen, Max established Ellsworth Private Wealth Management, LLC (predecessor to Ellsworth Advisors) in 2015. He currently holds the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designations.
Max is involved with several charitable organizations including the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation – Northern Ohio Chapter, Santa PICsU, and serves as an Ambassador for the Akron Children’s Hospital. In his spare time, Max enjoys golfing, watching Cleveland sports and spending time with friends and family. He lives in Brunswick with his fiancée, Amanda and Great Dane, Oliver.
Colleen E. Shafer
Colleen Shafer serves as Ellsworth Advisors Executive Assistant. As the front line of client experience, her intuitive nature ensures that all client needs and expectations are met. Her primary responsibilities include managing communication between clients and the investment team, onboarding new clients and processing account changes.
Colleen is a passionate advocate for many local animal rescue centers, where she has rescued and found forever homes for over 30 animals in the past 8 years. She is a graduate from Kent State University. When she is not spending time with her family you can find her at the movies or with a good book. Colleen currently resides in Green, Ohio with her 2 rescue animals.
Brett D. Baskin
Brett Baskin is a licensed investment advisor and serves as a Vice President of Ellsworth Advisors. He joined Ellsworth Advisors in 2016 to provide wealth management and financial planning services to high net worth families and consult with corporations on their retirement plans.
Brett earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ohio State University. Prior to joining Ellsworth Advisors, Brett was a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith in Westlake, Ohio. While at Merrill Lynch, Brett provided holistic financial planning services to families around the country as well as retirement plan consulting services to public and private corporations.
Brett is a member of the advisory board for the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation – Northern Ohio Chapter, the local chapter of a national organization funding research to cure CF and providing support for families affected by the disease. Brett also co-chairs the Bruce Baskin Cystic Fibrosis Golf Classic, the longest standing tournament at Firestone Country Club, and chairs Tomorrow’s Leaders, a team tasked with raising awareness for the CF Foundation.
In his spare time, Brett enjoys staying active by golfing, fishing and competing in triathlons. He is also an advocate for animal rescue and enjoys spending time with his four rescue dogs.
Michelle M. Schwab, FLMI, AIRC, ACS
Chief Compliance Officer
Michelle serves as the Chief Compliance Officer of Ellsworth Advisors. Her primary responsibility is overseeing and managing regulatory compliance issues, designing and implementing internal controls, and creating policies and procedures for the firm. Mrs. Schwab has spent her entire 17-year career as a securities compliance professional. She has received designations as a Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI); Associate, Insurance Regulatory Compliance (AIRC); and Associate, Customer Service (ACS).
Prior to joining Ellsworth Advisors, Mrs. Schwab served as an Associate, Compliance Director for Western International Securities, a full-service wealth management firm headquartered in Pasadena, California.
Michelle is a graduate of the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama where she received a BBA. She has been involved with a number of industry and charitable organizations. Currently, she is involved with the Hudson Library and Historical Society through the Friends of the Hudson Library. She also donates regularly to the American Red Cross. Michelle and her husband, Paul, live in Hudson with their son, Sebastian.
Paul A. Martin, CPA, MBA
Chief Financial Officer
Paul Martin serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Ellsworth Advisors. His primary responsibilities include the management and oversight of the financial reporting, financial planning, and strategic opportunities for the firm. Paul holds his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and earned the Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
Prior to joining Ellsworth Advisors, Paul was a tax partner at Apple Growth Partners, a regional CPA firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. While at Apple Growth Partners, Paul worked with large, private companies and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and consulted on strategic planning, complex tax issues, mergers and acquisitions, and wealth management planning. He has over 10 years of experience working closely with business owners not only on business matters, but also advising his clients on succession planning and wealth management after significant liquidity events.
Paul graduated from John Carroll University with his BSBA in Accounting and MBA degrees. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants. Paul is involved with numerous charities and has served on the boards for several of the foundations.
In his spare time, Paul enjoys spending time with family and friends and golfing. Paul lives in Hudson with his wife, Jane, and daughter, Elizabeth.
Michele M. Manilla
Operations and Administration Coordinator
Michele Manilla serves as Ellsworth Advisors Operations and Administration Coordinator. Michele’s primary responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office, providing support to the investment team through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication, coordinating client meetings and travel and managing the firm’s internal and external databases. To this position, she brings more than 20 years of relevant experience.
Prior to joining Ellsworth Advisors, Michele worked in a similar capacity at Ramco Specialties, A Hudson, Ohio manufacturer and distributor of specialty fasteners. She has also held positions in the fields of insurance and real estate.
Michele is an Ohio native, and her favorite vacation spot is Walt Disney World, where she has visited over 10 times since first being introduced to it at 8 years old. In her spare time, Michele enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also regularly volunteers for several local charities, including Santa PICsU.
